Bookfest this weekend! April 20th and 21st (2012)

BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (AP) — Dozens of authors and illustrators will participate in the Southern Kentucky Book Fest this week at Western Kentucky University in Bowling Green.

The festival will be presenting a Kentucky Literary Award this year to an author from Kentucky or one whose book has a Kentucky-related theme. The winning book and author will be announced Friday, and the author will participate in the festival on Saturday.

The event will run from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. CDT at Knicely Conference Center and will include several author presentations and panel discussions.

Authors expected to attend include Silas House, Heather Graham, Robert Morgan, Carl Hiaasen and Patricia Reilly Giff.

The Children’s Day and Kentucky Writers Conference will be held on Friday.

Community Farmers Market-Third Thursday Farm Days (Caneyville Gardens)

    Bryce and Eloise Geiser have operated the greenhouse, garden center and market for eight years. Three of their children are still at home on the farm, helping out.

    The Geiser’s have invited us to visit their farm and storefront on Thursday April 19th from 5-7 pm. Learn new gardening skills, see how a large scale fruit and vegetable farm operates, ask questions and meet the entire Geiser family!

    Everyone will be given a literature bag with lots of information and a free meal! Please RSVP here if you plan on attending. Tours and discussion will begin about 5:45.

    Take 1-85 to Caneyville. 1-85 will turn into Highway 79 and take that 3 miles north of Caneyville. Then turn right onto Choncie Lee Road. Go about 1 Mile.
