I am really glad I’m done shopping and not running around trying to find that one impossible to get gift.

Free apps are everywhere.  Some new apps to make life easier include:

 

ZocDoc: Find a new doctor.  Put in your area, insurance, and what type of doctor you are looking for and it will give you a list.  It also includes reviews of doctors.  (And it’s FREE!)

 

DriveSafe.ly:  Reads aloud all incoming texts so you can keep your eye on the road.  (The paid version will let you send texts or respond to emails using voice commands

Quitter: Calculates how much you’ve saved since you quit. (Also FREE!)

Dr. K’s Breast Checker: Reminders are sent monthly .  FREE!  Even lets you record any suspicious lumps you find to take with you for your doctors appointment!

Jody Richards Elementary (Tentative Map)

Jody Richards Elementary will have a meeting to view the new tentative maps on December 8th at 6:30.   The maps will be available for viewing at the new school at 2100 Elrod Road.

Geeky or what?

I had to laugh today as I got ready to leave to pick up my little one at school.  I ran in first to double check that my vacuum, Roomba was doing what he was supposed to.  As I checked he was running around our bedroom sucking up dirt.  As I left the room though I realized how funny it was that I was getting ready to leave and when I got back Roomba would be all done. Yeah!!!!  Then it crossed my mind how really geeky it was that I was going to be leaving the house while the vacuum kept working.

As I got back it became funnier when I couldn’t find the Roomba.  Turns out he had finished while under the bed.  Of course try explaining to a friend that you can’t join them for lunch because you really need to figure out where your vacuum went. – Of course he was under the middle of a King Size Bed causing me to have to get exercise trying to rescue him.  I’m now thinking we need risers for the bed….

Crock Pot Pot Roast

Just slap your roast in your crock pot (fresh or frozen), then add:
 
2 cans beef broth
1 tsp. minced garlic
Minced onion
Salt & Pepper

(I also throw in whatever veggies I have in the kitchen)
Cook your roast all day and it will be falling apart by the time you are ready to eat!
